Trev, Thanks for the reply - I wondered about the 'F', as it looked exacty like that indicated as used for imports, and is looks the same as the F for 1889.... How easy is it to establish where it came from? The designs look French to me, but I am certainly no expert..and all the marks are English. ...

Hi, This is a snuff box, with Chester marks, which I think date it to 1895. I can't find the makers mark of A & M.C, or what the little snake like mark is next to the date mark of F - it could be a C or what? Overall dimensions 48 mm x 35 mm x 15 mm high. Interior looked to be gilded once, but i...
