Re: Ornate Italian Spoon

All,

I did a search for Hanau pseudomarks on this site and found a spoon that appears identical–except for the marks–under Neresheimer, Hanau~Figural Silver Spoon.

Re: Ornate Italian Spoon

Legrand Mogol,

That makes very good sense. She studied violin at the Willard School in Berlin about 1908.

Thank you for your help.

Ornate Italian Spoon

Family lore has it that this spoon was purchased by my grandmother in Italy in 1906. Has anyone an idea of who the maker might have been, when it was made and what it is about?

Thank you.
Mike

Re: Japanese Pin w/mill & Fuji

Hi FredZ,
I cannot find that I replied to your request (way back in 2015) to add the mark to your online site.
You are more than welcome. Thank you for your insights.

davidross,
I shall do. I checked FredZ's site: no happiness ensued.
You have given me a clue, so I shall continue looking.
Thank you.

Fu, Lu, Shou silver pins

Please identify the maker and country of origin of these two pieces of jewelry. I believe one to be a pin and the other to be half of a sash closure. The other half of the closure has been lost. I believe the pins to be abstractions of Lu and Shou , the Chinese characters for Prosperity and Longevit...

Japanese Pin w/mill & Fuji

Please identify the maker, approximate date and origin of this pin. Apx. 2" side to side. Thatched roof mill with waterwheel, stream, pine tree, Mt. Fuji (probably) and other landscape. Stylized maker's mark ( I hope) on obverse. Thank you. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925...

silver bracelet & heart

Who is the maker of this bracelet? The heart bears letters E-P and symbols anchor, lion passant, and lower case a . Most links of the chain have the letters E-P and three symbols impressed: one is a lion passant; the others may be a shield and a ram's head. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg htt...

maker of tongs

Blakstone & Postnikov,
Thank you very much for all your help.
How the tongs came to be in my grandmother's silver is a mystery to me.
Perhaps she and my grandfather found it California when he was stationed in Hawaii about 1917.
Best to you all.

Can these marks possibly be Russian? The only marks that I have found on your site that look similar to these are the 84 zolotniki and the assayer's marks at http://www.925-1000.com/Frussia.html . Please see the images linked below. Thank you. Mike http://i49.tinypic.com/2rpy8hl.jpg http://i45.tinyp...

Found similar pot

Gentlemen,
I found a tea set at the live auctioneer site.
Image
The handles appear identical except that mine has ivory separators and two of the bands with gadrooning appear identical.
I cannot make out the images of the hallmarks.
Your thoughts?

What maker is EP?

Sterling silver bracelet with heart shaped locket. Marks on the locket are EP, anchor, rampant lion facing left, and lower-case a. Marks on the chain are EP, two symbols, and the lion rampant. The owner—MCL—lived from 1888 until about 1917. I have looked through Kovels' American Silver Marks and Ens...

maker ss

Tom, Here are images of spoons that I was told were Sheffield Plate. Perhaps they too are export. One appears to have marks similar to the sugar; the other is perhaps Linchong or Lynchong. That would explain the presence of Chinese characters on the back of the spoons. What do you think? http://i45....

What maker was SS?

You were kind enough to identify the maker of what I, and a certified appraiser, thought was an English made coffee pot, tea pot and creamer. The fourth piece in the 'set' has similar pseudo marks, but the maker is SS. Who might this be? http://i49.tinypic.com/y2hj5.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/e663iu...

What Maker was FM?

I have a coffeepot, teapot and creamer that bear what I believe to be maker's mark of FM, along with duty mark, city mark, and sterling mark. Could you confirm the maker and approximate date of the teapot? (admin photo edit - images too large - insert as link only - see Posting Requirements ) http:/...
