Hello I bought last year a silver pocket watch. It has a Chester Hallmarks. Can anyone help me in dating the silver case? I see letter B on the shield with straight lines, which means 1727, but letter B on the French-type shield means 1902. I think that silver watch are from 1902 but the shield does...

Case solved. The sponsor initials A&K belonged to Allen & Kingfield, Manchester, they went into The Birmingham Assay Office archives in 2008. The second mark is a ‘International Convention Mark’ this is the scales with a 375 inside. Date letters became optional after 1999 so any item hallmar...

I`ve found that marker`s mark AK means: Abraham Kemp. He was a gold ring maker. Date of Registration at The Birmingham Assay Office 05/01/1842.
On that ring is "A&K" but Abraham Kemp mark was "A*K" so I don`t know that is right what I`m thinking.
